That happened to a few friends. The pump died soon after.
Traning will keep you alive.

My fuel pump has started ticking loudly also. I am in the market for a new pump and checked the internet. The 16700-ML8-601 has been discontinued. I checked the web and found that Saber Cycle is selling a replacement, 16700-MG9-771 for around $230.00. This is way more than I wish to pay for a new pump. Any ideas for a replacement?

It's nice to know about this pump, check in now and again and tell us how its performing.
You should have shopped around it's a little cheaper at Midway Auto Supply $31.95.

Whats up with this????

It may start weeping out the area of the electrical.
It may also quit at any time.
Get it replaced.

Mine did the same and I replaced it with one from another 84I with low miles for $50.
Took the old one apart to understand how it worked and where it failed, then recycled the metal.

I'm sure he probably has replaced it considering the OP had the problem over a year ago!

Anyone got a picture of the Prelude pump fitted in their 1200 Wing? Mine is getting noisy and I need to make a decision soon on what to replace it with.

This is very true, but if his situation is like the situation my bike was in, (sat for two years), maybe his sat until he had time and was able to locate the replacement part.
In any case, the thread did get another inquiry and answer, and the spreading of information is one of the purposes of this forum.
