Throttle Cables - NLA from Honda

Time to replace the throttle cables on my 87 and to my surprise they are no longer available from Honda - they've been discontinued according to my dealer. Is there an aftermarket source for them?

Yeah... They can be had as aftermarket parts.... Ya can get a complete set for the price Honda wanted for just one... 4 Years ago I made the mistake and baught from the stealer...

Quite often dealers are just too lazy to look up current part numbers so they just tell you that your part is no longer available because it's easier. Try another dealer or try several other dealers until you find one who is willing to find the parts you need or Google honda motorcycle parts and start your search there. I'll get you started with this one:

I gave the Honda dealer the part # but it came back NLA. I'd prefer the aftermarket route. Is there a supplier??

Finally got a set of cables. ? Reading the manual looks like a tear down of the false tank, etc to get at them. Any tricks/tips to install them?

Lubricate the new cables with motor oil using a home made funnel at one end. With a piece of wire tie the new cable to the old one and tape the joint then you can pull the cables through and end up with the new one in the right position.

Might have to take the false tank off anyways if you bike whas the cruise controll option on it... There are 3 cables to change if that's the case... Throttle to cruise, cruise to carb, and carb back to throttle...
