Disrobed 1500
Has anyone ever made a 1500 into a Naked Wing?
If so, do you maybe have pictures?

I just feel that all that tupperware is not really necessary, and think what the throttle response and fuel mileage would be without all that extra weight on there.

Yes, Honda did it years ago, it's called a Valkyrie. Just Google Honda Valkyrie to see a pic.

Also I believe that the Valk 1500's engine is a touch higher performance vehicle that the 1500 Goldwing...

As I recall the Valkyrie had hotter cams ad 6 carbs as opposed to the Wing's 2.

That Valk is nice in black.... too many are made in weird two tone colors.

The Valkyrie has a 1500 6 cyl and red lines at 7500 rpms. Sounds like a hot rod to me, I want one.

That's correct rosoepc, the Valkyrie has 6 carbs rather than two and it has camshafts that give a little more torque.

So it is the same engine?
Does that mean if you have a GL1500 and want more power, you just change either cams or heads and cams and mount on the six carbs?

Could be.. Or there might not be enough room to slide a "6 pack" on top of the engine in the stock Goldwing configuration..

Theoretically yes, but, I believe that there would be space limitations with the 6 carbs.
