replacement fuel filter
Quick question on the replacement fuel filter, a link here on the site referred to a J&P part# of ZZ41014 as a cheaper alternative to the Honda OEM # of 16900-371-004. Is this a direct replacement filter? What kind of modifications would I have to do to make it work? I haven’t seen it yet but I’m due to pick one up tomorrow. Does it fit into the original filter housing with the banjo fittings on top and bottom?

I bought a direct replacement for mine on EBay for $5.99 and it included shipping.

Just take your original one off and bring it to a brand name auto parts store like Napa or Advance and have them match it up. It will cost pennies compared to the Honda unit.

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but that J&P part # is for a carb model,it is not gonna work,

according to their fitment chart it should fit the carbed versions but it definitely wil not work for an LTD or SEI

i have a wix product catalog if you can tell me the mm bolt size i can probably come up with a # for you

So yea the J&P filter is not for FI, not for pressureized system. thanks Neo for the great news... jk.... BUT... could you look at this filter @ auto store (Autozone.com) for a 1986 Honda Civic 1.5 FI SOHC 4 cyl.... From what I have read this is the Honda car that has the compatible fuel pump and looking at the filter it looks the same to me, for $17 vs $50 its worth the look. I might go get one tomorrow and see if it has the same threads

Thanks Earl, for all your help. I just ordered a Wix 33556 Napa # 3556 and it turned out to be physically larger ?

it'll work in an emergency but i kept mine since it was only ten dollars, but i had to order a stock one for $45 total from western, had no choice its one of those things that honda did to make sure they get the return business, napa wont make a copy unles demand is there andthey get at least 500 inquiries upfront and then it takes them about a year to put it in production,so in out case wix/napa wont be making these

Since the "Real one " is $ 50 I'm gonna put thw Wix one on till I know I've got rid of all the rust, then put the Honda filter on in the off season.
