Backfire?
Ok here we go see if i can describe this...1985 Ltd.
starts fine runs good cold, after a few min of rideing its fine under load but when I let off the throttel to slow down it pops and bangs and generaly sounds like an old Harly...but other then that it runs fine. Im just worried im going blow the exaust pipes off.
A freind says it might just have a bad plug. but i havent pulled them out yet.

On the bottom of the plenum there is a vacuum operated valve that lets air into the intake when you let off the throttle. When this valve goes bad it no longer allows air through and causes backfiring on decelration so it seems that you will need to replace this valve. It's called the anti afterburn valve and its not very expensive but you will need to remove the complete intake assembly to replace it. You will also need to replace the 4 o-rings on the intake manifolds. I would also replace the slow air cut off valve while I had it apart.
