Anyone ever tried extending the mirros on a GL1200?

Here's the problem -- I'm huge. I finally got to ride my Wing this last weekend and discovered that no matter how I adjust the mirrors, I can't see the road behind me at all. I can adjust them and see the lane next to me, but can't see anything behind me. My big, fat body is in the way. Any ideas (besides losing weight)?

On the right and left master cylinders there is a threaded hole.
Possibly you could find an extended set of mirrors to fit in the holes.
They were used to that effect on the 84 standard.

That would do in the interim while you concentrate on the larger problem.

I think he would just end up with a larger Hoss to look through using convex mirrors, he needs to get them out past his body

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Some, like Roleketu's, more interesting than others. :d I didn't even realize the holes were there. Mine have a black screw plugging the hole and it didn't even occur to me what it was for. I think I'll try the stick on convex mirror first. Cheapest and easiest. If that doesn't help, I'll try mirrors screwed into the holes although I find the backup camera idea intriguing.

If the convex mirror doesnt do it, try your local wallmart in the bicycle section they have mirrors on stems although they may vibrate too much for them to be of value

There was a post on here a couple of months ago about a helmet with a review mirror built in. A bit pricey at about $500.00.

A cheaper alternative to the helmet with the mirror built in is found at bicycle shops. They have small mirrors you can buy that will just stick onto your helmet.
