Update on the special GL 1200 LEDs

I am still working on the LEDs for the GL 1200.

I think I have finally found a manufacturer that can make the LED that will work for the GL 1200.

The GL 1200 takes a very special LED that is nearly impossible to find in a quality that will work to my very High specifications,
I have found many manufacturers that can make an LED that will work for this application, but the quality of these LEDs just was not up to par for me.

I know this LED has been a long time coming, but bear with me and I will deliver you a LED second to none, and will also save you about 13 amps by just replacing the rear 1157s and 1156s alone.

What is different about the bulbs?

The GL 1200 tail and turn lights, as you know mount sideways and must go through a hole.

The standard 90 digree LED will not fit through the hole.

and the tower type LED just does not throw enough light at the lens.

The new GL 1200 lights will use SMD LEDs, they are very High output.

also the complete LED will be the exact same size as the 1157 filament bulb, and will focus 100% of its power at the lens.

after we try this LED setup, I may also add 2 more SMDs to the back side to illuminate the reflector in the light housing if needed..

The search continues for the best LED for the GL 1200.

we came upon another question that I can not answer tonight.

can you help here?

I need to know the orentation of the pins of the lights when installed.

does the short pin on the 1157 face the lens, or the long one?

or maybe they even set crossways, long pin on right or left?

I need these answers to complete the Lights.
