30 amp fuse mod

I removed the offending plug, cut the wires back (they were burnt) added some short lengths of same gauge and soldered spade connectors to the green/red and yellow/red wires and plugged the wires directly to the solenoid.
The red and red/white wires provide voltage to the ignition switch ![]()
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.

Keep an eye on those fuse holders, they not such great quality. I had 2 of them overheat inside at the spade connector where the fuse plugs in. No-corrode, bulb grease or something similar might have prevented this from happening.
Since then I replaced it with an auto resetting circuit breaker which has threaded posts for eyelet cconnectors. No more problems. Thanks for the drawing tricky. The red wires look kinda small though ![]() |

I would be leery of an auto resetting circuit breaker.I would use a manual reset. Those auto ones will keep resetting until they finally weld the points together if the problem is not looked at right away. You would be more likely to look for a problem if you had to keep resetting it yourself.Just my opinion.

If Id'a known it would last this long I would've taken better care of it !!! ![]() |

Good point Chris.
I had the circuit breaker laying around and it fits so nicely by the battery. One day maybe I'll change it out. |

It's a corrosion inhibitor sold at car parts stores.
