I sold my 83 V45 two years a go, that was a very fast bike. I wish I still had it, I had a lot of fun with that rocket.

A couple of years back one of my brother-in-laws came up and rented a Shadow over in Boone, NC. While there at the shop I noticed that he had a Magna V-65. It was for rent also so let me know when yer coming here Marty!! The shop is located near U.S.129, The Snake!! 8)

Heh Lane.. my buddy has an 83 V65 restored back to a beauty that is for sale now for $2900.
Great looking bike and if you thought the v45 was fast????????

Yea Ken I hear the V65 very fast. I would love to have a restored V65 but I can't have everything. I just picked up a V65 that I am working on now, I have a long way to go to get it where I want it but I will get there. I would like to keep it for a second bike if I can afford both.

theres 2 reasons for buying my 1500 REVERSE and Parts availability from Honda dealers.

other than that, my wife and I enjoyed our 1200 waaaaaaaaaaaaay more, I put 375,000 on my 84 Interstate, 1 stator and 1 home made GM alternator, its got over 600,000 now by my freind that bought it 10 yrs ago.
I kept dropping the 1500 backing it out of my garage, and wife had trouble getting on the back ,so I ordered a Sports max Side car and had it installed by side car experts in Edmonton, my insurance company said I couldnt do it myself,even though I am a licenced Motorcycle mechanic, auto mechanic and weldor.???
so they took 4 months to get it done last yr, missed whole riding season, when I got it back in November I rode it once to town and back, liked it, BUT wife said NO more Biking for her, so its for sale. found another 85 1200 int. with 102,000 kms, might trike it this coming winter and put my homemade Reverse on it that I had on my 1100 trike 3 yrs ago.

this is the 96 1500 SE and new side car for sale $10500.00 you cant hardly buy the bike for that.
side car was $3200 and $1800 installed . bike was $6000.00 should be worth $10,500 .00
bike has 162K miles and every available option on it, plus helmets with headsets.covers.manuals, and a brand new Differential with it for spare.

My pristine 1989 GL1200 Interstate with only 40,000 miles on its odometer (and which I shamelessly pamper) will easily outlast me!!! :cry:

there is a 2000 1500 in Minnesota with over 800,000 MILES on it, he rides 125 Miles to work every day with it, and then rides More on his days off, he loves his bike.

My ride is INDEED a 1985 Interstate.

Lucky me! My same finger could have slipped while trying to brake for avoiding an idiot cager yakking on his cell phone instead of paying attention to the road. :lol:

[By the way, that DID happen last week while some guy began executiing a right turn against a red light from a side street into my lane. I was doing about 40 mph. He was yakking on a phone (held in his left hand), naturally looking in the direction of his right turn -- and NOT at me, and I gaved him ALL 150db of my air horn (left thumb) and did a braking swerve around him. At that time my fingers (right hand) didn't slip :d ]

I recently had a shot at obtaining a nice 2000 SE 1500, but after thinking it over and over for about a week, I decided to let it go. The reasons were because I really like my GL1200, I ride solo all the time, and I am starting to really mechanically know my way around the 1200(thanks to many on this site). I'm sure the extra power would have been nice, and the smoothness of the ride, however, the 1200 does what I need. Also I don't need the bells and whistles of an SE because I wouldn't use things like the CB, and it seems there are more things to eventually go wrong. I also will say that I really believe the 1200 looks much more like a motorcycle. I know that the 1500's are great bikes, but the 1200 is a personal choice for me!

I feel similarly. In my case, the 1200 is just about right for city driving (which is what I do mostly) -- in terms of its manueverability -- and that very convenient reserve power when you REALLY need it. It never fails, where ever I go for children and grownups to come over to me for raving about what a nice bike it is.

Changing the subject, bagelboy, are you anywhere near the town in which I grew up four months out of each year during a dozen years in Fleischmann's (Catskills), NY? It is midway between Arkville (& Margaretville) and High Mount (& Big Indian). Anyhow, that was about a hundred years ago. :mrgreen:
