PARKING LIGHTS
Hi,

Today for the first time ever I switched the main ignition switch to park. I wanted to pump up my front tire.

I noticed that at the rear of my motorcycle (GL1200L) a red light was on at each side of the bike. I checked whether any lights at the front of the motorcycle were lit - they were not. Should they be?

Yes! When you turn the switch to the park position the rear parking lights and the radio will come on and you can use the onboard compressor for airing up the tires and such! The front parking lights don't come on.

So I shouldn't expect either of the small lights adjacent to the headlight to come on when the ign switch is set to park?

No. As a matter of fact, before I responded, I went and checked mine to make sure! 8)

I just checked mine and only the tail lights come on.

Not sure where I read it, but Honda started doing that with all their bikes somewhere in the early 80's, even my 85 rebel had that feature..
