timing belt tenioners

hey guys,as a newbie on this site i've been reading up on doing the belts,lots of great info,i got my napa t070 belts
last week and finally did started the job last night,went pretty good,belts went on no problems,everything lined up perfect, but i'm a little worried about the tensioners.....clymer book says 2-4 pds pull????????? also said 1\8 to 3\16 play on belt...so i used a small pry bar ,gave it some tension,got about 1\8 - 3\16 play......checked my marks,rolled by hand back and fourth, and rolled it over 3-4 times all is good......rad back on....filled antifreeze......and started it up.... walked away to get a light to watch antifreeze.....big puddle on the ground....#$%%^^&&&&..forgot to put timing plug back in!!!!!!ran great after that..but then the tensioners started making noise.......did i put theme to tight????? or does it sound like they need to be changed??????? denis |
