Hi everyone. I saw the link on the GWRRA board and came on over. This looks like it will be a new hang out for me.

A little about me and my ride:
I am a Sgt in the Sheriff's Office in Canton Georgia. Canton is about 40 miles north of Atlanta and is in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains offering some of the best riding anywhere.

I ride a 1984 Interstate with just under 170,000 miles that I got from my Dad in 2001. He put most of the mile on her, I got her with 140,000. I like to ride, but don't get to as often as I wish due to work and grand babies. I do a lot of work on my bike my self, not that I have had to do much. I change the oil, change the brake and clutch fluids, check the air pressures, and other basic maintenance. Other than that I ride. The stator puts out 13.5 to 14.5 volts depending on engine speed. I don't have a lot of lights or anything like that. My baby is pretty plain and I love her that way. I have an aftermarket auto stereo and a Sony Minidisc player hooked to it so I can hear some music. I have a little chrome, but not much. I like to ride not polish and clean.

Well, that is about all, I'm going for a ride later today, so see ya later!
Remember, No matter where you go...There you are!

Here is where I have ridden my 1984 GL1200I
I completed the lower 48 states in August 2009, riding the whole way with my Dad

Hey folks, found this site from Steve Saunders site too. I bought my 87 Interstate 2 years ago from a neighbor, he had 75K on it and just turned 105300 this month, lot's left in her and still running strong. I live in Abbottstown PA and have been riding for 34 years now. Trying the iron butt this summer when I go out to Colorado again (family there). Have been riding dressers since I was 25 (that's 25 years now). Love long distance running. Planning on trying the Tail of the Dragon the summer too. My wing is basic, no radio or anything, will be putting the Audiovox CCS100 cruise on it from Steve's web site this winter, had it on my Cavalcade and have been missing it ever since I trade for the Harley. I am a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, go up the the Harrisburg PA group, also a member of the GWRA too.
Nice to have this site just for the 1200 too. Thanks
Tim

Hello,

Saw your forum, when I was searching for goldwing information,

A little about me, on my 60th birthday, last September, I forfilled
a dream, and purchased my first wing, a 1986 aspencade.

I'm loving the riding experience again, after a 25 year lull, and the wing is everything I thought it would be and then some.

Hello good people. I`m danish, living in Norway. Have been driving bikes since age 13, am now 46, almost. And the very proud owner of a -86 SE-I. Just bourght it late this summer. Excellent bike, with only 34K on the clock. The bike is in mint condition, with lots and lots of x-tras added. Too much to mention. I`m kinda into mechanics, and sort of a "wants to know why" person, so of course I couldn`t leave it be, when the winter came. It`s taken all apart for a real rub down. Polishing chrome, and the same with all the painted, and pinstriped, parts. Changing the front springs to progresives, new seals in front fork, rear tire change, and of course all fluids are changed as well. Big Grin Daughters bike up next. Cagiva 125ccm. Lots of work to be done on that one as well, and after that, it`s wife bikes turn. Yeeeeessss.... Gotta love bikes, right guy`s.
I`m sure this site will be of great interrest to me, and others. Keep up the good job.
Greetings from Norway

Big Grin Hello I'm another newcomer to the bb here... I've been riding sence 72 on a kwi 550 2 stroke that was the quickest/fastest bike i've ever owned... Sence i've had 650 yam, gl1100,gl1200,gl1500 but I keep the 1200 for some reason. I'm playing with a cb750 ss trike and intend to make it an automatic... also interested in building a front car drive trike wt a gl out front for class... This board is great and I will be spending time here, thanks for all the info
