Looked good Ros, I dont think it is peak yet though, maybe 1 more week. Gives GL just enough time to ride on over.

Hello from SC. I'm new to winging but not to riding. Rode MX as a pre-teen and teenager back in the '80's.
Until last week I've been sporting my '05 Buell Blast and my supermoto an '06 Suzuki DRZ400SM. In the past I've rode anything from a '84 V45 maga to a '94 FXDL, Dyna Low Rider.
I love the twisties and visit them frequently in WesternNC on the supermoto.
I ride most everyday as I only have a 4 mile commute, each way, to work and home.
Last week I picked up a 1985 Goldwing 1200L Limited Edition. Bike has been sitting for approx. 4-5 yrs. Have already ordered a regulator/ rectifier, it was off bike and fried when I got itfrom PO, and purchased a new battery. Now I am looking into what esle I should attend to before she'll be road ready. Tires, brakes, timing belts, coolant change, tune-up, plugs, wires, front fork seals and oil. Bike has 88K miles on it. Is there other things that I should be aware of on this model. I'm hoping to get her to run before I start on the road ready list of items to be sure there is nothing else electrical bad. I will post pics of the GW soon.
I'm glad to have found this site and hopefully learn and be of help to others someday.
thanks from SC

Welcome to the site jacksondrz from Ontario Canada. You may want to flush your brake and clutch systems and also grease the splines on your rear wheel hub and final drive. Check and make sure that you three yellow stator wires are soldered, the procedure is on the forum and change the oil in the motor and final drive. If you have any questions just ask there is a lot of knowledge on this forum and the people on it will help you out all they can.

How do from North Central Alabama, GO GATORS.... I grew up in FLA

Been riding wings for a while now, but this is my first 1200. Gotten pretty good at re assembly of old wings as most I received as "Basket Cases". This is the first wing I have purchased that ran... I'm so excited!.... Got this one a couple of weeks ago and got it home, changed the brake and clutch fluids, new battery... made sure the tires were round, loaded on trailer and took to Biketoberfest in Daytona...ran some seafoam thru it and it ran decent...
Got home and disassembled... new EIII's old tires were dated 1992, speedbleeders, brakes, rebuilt forks, pulled carbs and ran thru ultrasound, added css100 cruise control, added Hella's cleaned wheels, cleaned and waxed... about together again and should ride this weekend... Thanks for a great site and great info... talk to you soon...
