New Chicago guy....
Hello everyone. Bought an '84 Aspencade over the week end. Haven't been near a Wing since 1988 when I sold my '82 Aspencade. My current '04 RoadStar was just a bit too rough for my favorite chick who rides on the back, so I returned to a Wing to make her comfortable and happy. Nothing beats a Goldwing for two up cruising and touring! Glad to find this forum and hope to learn a lot of good info here.

Welcome, Bill. Always good to see another '84 on board. Looks good, too.

As I have a fair amount of experience with the GL1200's, I thought I'd advise you to have the 3 yellow wires hard wired. Many times they have melt downs causing premature stator failures (that plug just to the left of the battery). Ok perhaps it's been done already.

You might want to also consider Iridium spark plugs and a dry-cell technology battery. FYI I bought my dry-cell battery 7 years ago and it's still working..

All the very best and good luck to you from Steve (Goldwing Man), Canada.

Thanks for the advice. I junked the connector on those three yellow wires. Wish I could find the connector to the LED gear selector display. Only getting N, 4, OD.
