I don't have any experience with this type conversion, but I would think the oritation of the float hinge would be of more importance... Randal Washington (Randakk) would be an excellent source of get info on this conversion... This guy even put a super charger on a GL1000.!!!
Check it out...

I agree with Ed, the location of the float hinge is most important when you consider that the float can be affected by the attitude of the bike.

Gee I guess I have to post again, lost the first one  !!! Update with some pictures and since I last posted I went over to Randakk's and studied his bike w/supercharger and came to the conclusion he faced his 32/36 forwards, so with that in mind I have chose to do the same Tongue !!! I'm also going to use my heated plenumn, this time without the heat wrap which helped retain too much heat!! I also had to notch out the frame alittle so it would fit! So hopefully tomorrow I will install it Tongue !! Later 8) Bob

If it's Ray's setup then it should run great. Ray is one smart cookie.

Any more on this installation?

I have the CC model I'm installing on my '78. That is the one with the builtin water-jacket.
Don't have a working digital camera, but will get pictures up as soon as I do.

AZW, I haven't done anymore to it since I had a faulty acc. pump spring out of place. I've riding for now since here riding season is about over. I'm still going to try the carb but was hoping to do it as a winter project but who knows I may do it sooner!! Where did you get the CC manifold from and what type of carb are planning to use, 8) Bob

As an interested observer I'd guess, wanting a simpler set-up over the stock 4 carb set-up, Better/more performance, or,,,,, just because they can??

After all this is the "Back Yard Built Gold Wings Bar and Grill" part of the Site!! 8)
