Engine noise out of speakers
Hello, late last season I was on my last ride and on the way home. I noticed a noise that came out of the speakers like the engine rpm's and it seemed to start about 55mph, below that you could not really hear it.. The radio was turned off. I have a stock radio on a 85 1200A, all that I added was a volt meter (weeks before) and went to the fuse box with the hot and ground,is there any type of inline noise filter that may have gone bad?

Thank you
Joe

funny u should mention adding a voltmeter...was it an LED one by any chance.....i just put one on mine.....i have the CB out of it and just had it repaired
and i thought because it wasn't hooked back up that be the cause,,,,and it seems like radio fades in and out.....i have about the same issue as u are
having......if you find the problem before me let me know and i'll do the same

I also posted at Steve Saunders site, some are saying it could be the spark plugs which I replaced late in the season got them from a auto parts store, or the intercom button turned way up. The volt meter was a needle type Honda brand. Hope this helps.

Hey Neo,
Funny you mentioned the radio fad in and out thing... I had this happen on last Sundays ride (up around the Fredrick area)... At first it seemed like one of the guys in my group was keying up his CB but not talking... Ya know how it mutes the radio when the CB is being used... Well after asking the group if anyone was hitting their push-to-talk button and no one had been, I began playing with other things (while riding) to see if I could cause the problem... What I did find is that the mute button on my handle bar radio controls was acting up... Once I manually operated it several times (about 20 times) the fading issue stopped... Will need to give it a shot of contact cleaner on my next maintenance day...

I will have to try the same, to me i thought it might be the antenna had gone bad or something and was going to connect the"spare"
\but until i get the cb back in,i was thinking that it might somehow be related to the fact that the cb was out and i had bypassed the avc
and other things
