Starter goes Whiz, Bang, Clunk......
Thanks all for your input!!

I did the Seafoam as well as I rebuilt the Starter.

I should of done these at different times so I would of known for sure which problem I had. UGH! Live and Learn...

However, My Whizzzz (without clunk) is gone. I think it was the starter. It was truly a mess in there. The grease was all but gone. The carbon buildup was incredible! What was amazing is that the brushes were in spec even with all the carbon inside the starter.

Anyway, after the rebuild it starts up very quickly and smoothly as well as it "Seems" quicker starting less rotations to start.

My bike never had the clunk noise, I'm not sure if that is a good thing but once in a while it would make a whizz and screech. I think it was the dried out grease.

Once again I appreciate this forum and this thread, even without the pictures, helped me focus in on some things and plan a repair route. ^Smile^
