SMOKING STARTER SOLENOID
<DIV>I'm having a problem with the starter on my GL1000.  If I crank the engine over for any longer than a few seconds my starter solenoid will start to overheat, eventually melting down if I'm too persistant.  Before you ask, let me tell you that the grounding circuit on the battery is good, and so are all the positive terminal connections.  The only thing different than last year is that this is a new battery.  Any thoughts?</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks Vic, your diagnosis was right on.  The starter bushings were badly worn, I've got a new on on order.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks again</DIV> <DIV>mgcanuk</DIV>
