Engine numbers???

This might have been asked before, if so i'm sorry to bring it up again.
I'm under the impression that my 84 Interstate may have a later engine, is there any way I can check the number? |

The quickest way is to check to see which end of the engine the pulse genorators are on. If they are on the back of the engine it is an 84 engine, on the front it is a 85-87 engine. Poorboy
