wiring diagram
OK did you try another radio in it? it could be the signal that is coming from the radio TO THE AMPLIFER is the problem.

The signal splits inside the radio and one goes to headset and the other goes to the amplifier.

Any chance of doing a swap with anyone?[attachment=0]

Talk to the people at Sierra they do repairs on them and they have probably have come across the problem before.

There is a waiting list for the radios, they are decent folk to talk to.

I was at their place on the way back from Calhoun, and they do nothing but bike radios and CB's, it is a family operation.

Send them an email what you have done and what is happening etc. http://www.sierra-mc.com/

I am going to try 1 last thing this evening.

Since everything elas possible has been done, and I do not have access to another radio, I will change out the FM circuit board this evening, maybe something there is bad.

I have another bad radio that has problems with the board that the switches mount to, I will use it as a donor.
