Dash lights dim

My dash lights dim with application of the front brakes. I was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction on which to start looking. I figure cleaning the connectors and using dielectric grease on them like the rest of the bike, but any other possibilities besides that. i love this site with all of your help i finally got my 86 1200 on the road this weekend. The GL1200 rides nicer than my 07 Lehman trike. Shes a really sweet ride.

thats normal. but check the dogbone fuse if it is melt or seems to be overheated change it with an inline fuse. also check the three yellow wires and connector from the stator housing (left side of battery) if possible cut the connector and weld the wires.

I replaced the dogbone fuse awhile back with an automotive fuse and also cleaned out the connectors with contact cleaner and packed them with dielectric grease. But I havent gone into the electronics in the fairing at all yet.
