SE-i Air Filter
Anyone had any luck finding an air filter at a reasonable price for and SE-i or LTD?

Has anyone used JC Whitney Air Filters?

motor22,
I am using a K&N and I love it-- I have a K&N on both cars and the SEI. Next time I purchase an air filter for the 650 it will be K&N... One might ask why= I average 1.5 to 2.0 miles per gallon EXTRA per fill up. I know some may be skeptical but I have the gas receipts to prove it... My last tank on the '06 Camry I got 34.7mpg out of a 33 mpg car per the dealer.....
I picked mine up at Advance Auto but you can check around cause other K&N dealers can order it if necessarySmile

Another approach if you want to use the air filters for the Aspencade/Interstate 1200s in your LTD/SEi is to either:

1. Drill the extra hole in the top of the A/I air filter for the rubber grommet that the air temperature sensor the LTDs/SEis use. The only difficulty would be to drill it out in the proper location (and keep metal shavings out of the air filter).

OR

2. Relocate the air temperature sensor to the lid of the air box. I moved mine because I am having a problem with it not running properly on restart after it is warmed up but has been shut off and then restarted. I thought it might be a "heat soak" of the air sensor from the heat coming up from the engine/intake manifold. Anyway, relocating it did not solve that problem for me, but it does open the door to using the non-LTD/SEi air filters. I drilled a hole in the airbox lid as near as I could to the left rear corner of the lid (as you are sitting on the bike looking down at the airbox). The sensor will fit nicely in there between the outside of the airbox and the air filter element. Relocating it did not make the bike run any differently (good or bad). I plugged the hole in the lid where the sensor used to be with two fender washers and a bolt and nut. I left my stock LTD air filter in there, so I had to silicone seal the rubber grommet so air would not get in.
