Aspencade side light covers
Hi Everyone

We have a 85 1200 Aspencade. On both sides of the front fairing there is a light under the Honda Emblem. The covers of ours on the right and left are missing and we need to replace them. I have looked different places for these and have not been able to find them. Does anyone know where we can get these/

Thanks
Desiree

Someone else can correct me if I am wrong, but I think those were originally just amber colored reflectors. The previous owner probably changed them out for better visibility on the side at night. You may have to just look around for something that will fit. Since you can't post pictures yet you can email a pic to one of us if you want to.

Under "make selection" you can buy the lenses individually. I'd spend the extra money and just get the set. Cleaner connections and no rust! Big Grin

Angela, sounds like your lights are wired into the front amber running/signal lights. Honda turns the running light off on that side when turn signal is on so the flash of the turn signal is easier to see (they are in the same bulb right?). You can correct this by wiring them into the tail light circuit instead.

This sounds like the location for the reflectors. Is that where you are talking about Angela?

I would like lights there as well. Several folks have commented about how easily the covers fall off of the ones mentioned above. Also some have said you have to drill a 5/8" hole. I wouldn't mind some lights that were a little thicker if I could drill a smaller, like 1/4" hole for just the wire.

Many years ago, I replaced the reflectors on my bike with with the amber lights. The covers are attached with a thin strip of double sided foam and do, eventually, fall off. Then also have a tendency to crack. The last time I replaced them, I got the covers at a vendor - I think at Americade - and used a silicone adhesive to put them on. So far they're still on. The spare one that I have says it's from "Add-On Accessories": Amber Side Marker Lenses 423-161AL

I replaced the reflectors with lights a couple of years ago. Mine have a bolt on the back and I drilled a small hole to install them. I don't remember exactly but i think i got them from J. C. Whitney.

guys/ gals I don't want to sound cheap- but if you don't have them already on your bike, then check at a local harware or home improvement storei.e.Lowes or Home Depot. Trailer side marker lights are very very similar to the ones on my SEI.....just a thought Smile
