Gear Indicator
After 5 1/2 weeks, we finally got our 'Wing home today with a new stator, starter and regulator.

Because I brought her home on the trailer after having removed the seat, plastic body bits, crash guards, et al, I didn't get a chance to start her up until just now when I finished putting all the bits back on her. First try, nothing. Dead as a door nail. Naturally, my first thought was a dud stator but then I realized the neutral light was not on. I moved the shift lever to neutral and she fired right up. Whew. I shifted into first, then second, then third but nothing registered on the dash readout. That would seem to mean, at least to me, there is something amiss. A bad connection perhaps? Broken wire? Something not connected?

Can anyone help? Please?

Ian, if it was working before the work was done, I'd suspect a disconnected wire at the gear position sensor. Trouble is, I don't know where it's located! Maybe Vic or Tricky can help?

The picture leaves a lot to be desired but if you look in that area and check out the wiring.

Thanks for the responses, rosco and tricky. I removed the false tank, etc in order to get a better look and noticed there was a connector low on the left hand side which had not been re-connected. After doing so, all is back to working as before. What a great feeling.

Now, if the rain will hold off, we're going for a spin! Smile
