1200 ring of fire

I just installed rotor covers on my 85 Aspy, I then just spent the weekend at Homecoming drooling at the light parade and contest. I shopped all of the lighting vendors I could find thinking of just adding LED strips to the outside of the covers. The last vendor I visited (J M lighting?) suggested using the replacement rings from a 1500 (Dad has one, sigh), trimming to fit, and adding strips behind those. I've been shopping but wondered if anybody had gone near that route yet.
Also, big dummy question, what is the best way to remove the front wheel, I get it so far and can't get it out of the fender. I nearly trashed the covers before I got them on! |

If you have an owners manual it gives pretty good dirictions on how to remove the wheel. Good luck :o

Hi Paid4wa,
It might help to let the air out of the tire. I have the Kuryakyn ring of fire for a 1500 on my 1200. It's not hard to do. Ride Safe, Poorboy |

Air pressure, duh... Thanks, that's good to hear about the rings, got pics? Thanks again, Poorboy, for the great conversion, took it to Wing Ding and Honda Homecoming, zero problems!

I posted a few pictures of the 1500 ROF on my 1200. Not sure how to do a link, they are in the Photo Gallery.

Hey Poorboy,
Those look great. Am I seeing things or are those 1500 rotor covers as well? I hadn't considered using/ adapting the whole deal. Looking forward to pretty front wheels. |

Gotcha, mine don't have the vents, just solid chrome. Should be the same diameter though.
Thanks again! I love this forum. |

Are they the Kuryaken LED strips or the incandescent strips that saber cycle sells?
I got the "K" rings mounted on my saber cycle rotor covers and love 'em. "K" has a pretty good warranty on their's. I think saber offers replacement strips for the incandescent. |
