Fuel Petcock
hello i have been wondering something...

i never shut off the fuel petcock when i park my bikes for lets say a couple of days or even a week, right now my bike has been parked for 2 weeks due to rainy weather. im afraid to mess with it as i never turned it off that i can remember just a couple of times, on my friend's 1100 when we turned it off it started leaking a lot and i dont want that to happen to mine.

any recommendations? can i disassemble it to lubricate the rubber inside it before start using it? or it is not really needed to turn it off everytime you park the bike o.o?
