New Laminar Lip on the Cee Bailey's
About a month ago I mounted a Cee Bailey's on my '86 A, stock height with the NACA vent, hoping for less buffeting. I was disappointed. I'd estimate about a 10% reduction but it wasn't enough.

It is a beautiful windshield, and I like the NACA vent. The plastic is thicker and stronger than the plastic on the stock shield.

So I ordered a Laminar Lip, the 21 1/2" Cruiser Universal. I measured and examined the Cee Bailey's and determined that the 21 1/2" was the way to go. It came in today, and I mounted it. I took it for a ride and all I can say is WOW. What a difference.

I'll need to ride with it for a week or so and see how it does in a cross wind and on the highway around other vehicles. More to follow....

Tim -- the Laminar Lip is from <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.laminarlip.com">http://www.laminarlip.com</a><!-- w --> and the Cee Bailey's is from <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ceebaileys.com/cycle/">http://www.ceebaileys.com/cycle/</a><!-- m -->.

The Laminar Lip is $84.00 plus shipping. The fellow that I spoke with over there said that, for the stock Wing shield, the 17.5" Lip is the way to go. Both are under Cruisers.

I'm still liking this setup. I think the Cee Bailey's gives some good stiffness that the stock Wing shield lacks and the Lip puts the airflow an extra 6" above my head. It seems to smooth it out a bit.

Yesterday on US290 East from Austin I noticed much less buffeting in traffic -- even behind SUVs and large pickups. It was still noticeable but much improved. It's really smooth on less-traveled roads; I found myself above 80 (indicated) w/o thinking about it.
