looking for help with the mute switch for thr raido it dose no mute any more the switch is good ohm out good any help

My switch only takes it down a level, it does not totally mute the radio through the speakers. It works fine in the headsets. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or not but if anyone can improve on the info, please do so!

I never use the headsets for the radio so I have never tried to see if would totally shut down the sound on the headsets, it doesnt totally shut the sound down on the speakers though.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.
