Starter Solenoid Melting

I am repeating my plea for help in this section just in case. I have a 1986 GL-1200I that keeps melting the starter solenoid. Any help with this will be appreciated. The complete story is in Charging and Alternator Conversions, thanks again.

|
Typically a solenoid melting usually indicates a starter that is drawing too much current or possible loose electrical connections in the starting system or a failing solenoid that has dirty or worn contacts.

If it is the plastic connector then the remedy is in the tech center under "solenoid modification" If your melting the steel solenoid boy you do have a problem. 
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.
