85 LTD Please Help!!!
I am trying to restore an 85LTD and the fuel pump is bad. I have a fuel pump for a carb model but before i start cutting fuel lines, will that one work, I dont think that it has enough pressure or output for fuel injection. If i cant use that where can i get a fuel pump for it, What kind of car can i look at to get one off of and does anyone have any pictures of a similar retro fit. Please help, I have gone so far on this bike and really would hate to scrap it.

I have put a fuel pump from an 85 honda accord fuel injected BE SURE on mine.
I still do not have it running just right but I do not think it is the fuel pump as the the specs were the same.
I found the info on the net I did not come up with it myself. I think 84-87 honda accord has the same engine as the gl1200.

Please don't give up on your LTD because of a fuel pump, they are a great bike, I feel very lucky to own one, Big Grin

Welcome to the BEST 1200 Honda website on the web, Big Grin there are many people here that will do every thing they can to help you, whatever you need.

I have seen fuel pumps on eBay for the LTD, so watch there.
eBay can be a great place to find parts, or a complete bike, I bought my LTD on eBay.

Good luck, many of us here have LTD's so we will help.

I think my fuel pump relay went bad. Not sure but the pump is not making any noise or pushing out any fuel. I did the troubleshoot in the manual and it appears to be the fuel pump relay. Any thoughts on where I might be able to get one.

Another thought. Is there a way to bypass the relay to see if it is the pump instead of the relay.

There is a white two pin plug with yellow tape under the seat, Or if you can get to the terminals at the fuel pump apply 12 VDC. if possible do it at the fuel pump. That will eliminate any loose connections between the fuel pump and relay.

All those relays on your bike are the same,, you can take one of the others out and plug it into the place of the fuel pump relay.

I took my fuel pump relay to the auto parts store and they found one that matched up but is a little larger. It still fit ok but I could have trimmed down the plastic base if needed. I think the replacement cost me about $7.
