Rotor Covers ( How to install???
dkrider Wrote:if I ever have to take the front wheel off, I'm goin with the "1500" mod. It looks even better, and it seems a WHOLE lot simpler to put on, and take off. :d
Whoaaa!

Can you simply mount a 1500 rotor cover on an '85 GL1200 Interstate or are you pulling my Charlie horse? Huh?

I was toying with the idea of adding lighted rotor covers to my bike, but all of the above complications with the tight clearance and pulling out the shaft -- and on, and on -- seemed not worth the trouble. So do the 1500 covers REALLY easily fit the GL1200 or what?

The subject was already discussed at this forum -- with reference to a pair of sheet stainless steel brackets (plans included) needed to be fabricated for allowing the 1500 cover to be mounted on the 1200's front fork, rotor, caliper and fender.

Making the brackets and tweaking the covers and fender (plus a fair amount of drilling and tapping) may in the end still be simpler than practically taking apart the front end just to add a caliper/rotor cover. 8-X
