Spin-on oil filter adapter
Use 2 Phillips screwdrivers in the holes in the adaptor and hold the handles tight together then use another larger screwdriver between the other 2 screwdrivers to spin the adaptor on tight. Make sure you lubricate the adaptor o-ring well and spin the adaptor on as tight as you reasonably can so that it won't unscrew the next time you spin off the oil filter.

The instructions say to mount the adapter to motor clean, as no oil on the o-ring, that way it will stay. I did apply two small drops of blue Loctite on the adapter to motor threads. For tightening, use Vic's suggestion or if you have a disc grinder, the spanner type wrench that's used to tighten down the disc's, will fit the small holes in the adapter and works beautifully. Then, as with any spin on type filter, apply a small film of oil on the o-ring so you can get it off at next oil change.

the best fit and mist effiecent filter for the spin-on filter is the Napa 1085/ Wix 51085 there are several other numbers that fit but are smaller and have less filter capacity

adapters/filters fit fine with the ltd/sei or 87 aspy lowers

When I got my adapter I went right to Bob Hagerman's house and we installed it right there. Bob did put oil on the O-ring, only to insure a good seal when you tighten the adapter. I have done about 10 oil changes and 5 years of use and I have never had any problems with leaks or with the adapter coming loose.

The adapter is tightened up with a spanner wrench. If you lack that, you can gently put two short punches into the holes and use them to turn, or a strap wrench. Be gentle, it's aluminum. I had put a little silicone dielectric grease on my o-ring at installation.

Mine is an 1100, and it now shares filters with my Toyota Truck! Randall's stuff is the best.

For the purpose of clarification Bob Hagerman is the designer and builder of Randakk's oil filter adaptors constructed here in Canada.
