My New Job
After a lengthy search, I have found a great job.

The R.V. Business was not supporting us here in Ky. like it was in Ga.
so I decided to get a regular job.

I still do R.V. Work on the side and will still be in the LED business too.

I found this job in the local news paper.
It went like this.
Wanted: Spra Coupe operator,
CDL License with Haz. mat.
I did not have a clue but it sounded intresting so I checked it out.

After I filled out an application, the Bossman called me for an interview.

Turns out that this job was spraying crops, it also involved driving a road tractor "Big Truck" that carries 3000 gallons of water, and herbicides and pesticides.

I have many years of long haul truck driving, and several years of heavy equipment operating.

The boss and I liked what each other had to say, so I got the job.

It took me about 3 days to learn how to operate this machine, and Im sure it will take me some time to hone my skills.

Here are a few pics of the machine.

Maby some of you are farmilliar with this machine.

Here it is loaded and ready to go.

The boom and pump controls, also the rate computer in the background.

The regular guages, and GPS. oh, also my sirius satellite radio too....

The left boom extended, it is 60 feet long in all.

This thing is like a low flying crop duster, its fast and fun.

That's wonderful news Jim. I hope it works out well over the long haul. It looks like you could graduate into driving big foot trucks quite easily if you wanted to step up.

That looks like it will be a hoot, Jim. But make sure you stay with the LED's as I want to order some early in the new year.

I still have and am still ordering new LEDs.

The last order is running way behind, the gl 1200 tail lights, they were due in last week, still no sign of them.

hopefully they will arrive soon, there are many people here in town that have seen the 2 I have in the GL1200 saddlebags, they want them also.

Good luck with the new job. I've seen a many a day on a sprayer while working on the tomato farms years ago, but nothing that had that much electronics. Just keep in mind that some of the chemicals are very toxic and can stay in your body for a long time.

Yes, some of them are very bad.

The cab of this machine is sealed and has a filtration system to remove any mist and vapors before it enters the cab.

Also they supplied me with all the HAZMAT gear in case I have to exit the machine in the field to make a repair, respirator over boots and gloves.
The good thing though, they have very little in the way of harmful chemicals, most of the new sprays are kinder to us, the animals, and the land.

When I started on the farm it was 1974. The rules and regulations have changed so much since then and only for the best. I worked on the farm for over 8 years before I sat in a cab on a tractor. We sprayed once a week unless it rained then we sprayed after every rain. I don't miss those days. Lots of the chemicals we used then have be banned and replaced by more friendly ones.

Yes, the folks here will be the first to recieve them.

Your LEDs for your trunk lights are in now, I will be starting on them soon.

You see a lot of those machines around here. Kinda looks like a plane without the wings and prop. Glad you got a job that looks like you will really like. Will you still be spraying in the winter months? Or do they have other things for you to do? Congratulations jim, glad for you. Also glad to hear you will still be selling the LED's.

We are spraying untill the end of this month.
After that we will be moving into our new building about 10 miles north of madisonville.

also I will be doing mechanic work on the Big trucks, spray coupes, trailers and nurse wagons.

They say that the winter gets very boaring but I am very thankful to find a job that pays well in this part of the country.
