Dale I thought you might have gotten into my shop and got a picture of my '86 SEI as it looks almost identical to my lights in your photos. I installed some of the super white LEDs last year and like yours it seems to have a blue tint to them. I'm even using the Sylvania 9003 Cool Blue headlight and the LEDs have more of a blue tint than it does. However it does make the bike stand out and get noticed.

Just a quick note of thanks to those on this forum. I picked up an '86 Interstate the other day and had the headlight go out on me in the dark on the highway last night (the bright was already out when I bought it). I do not have a shop manual for the bike yet, so this forum helped me get the bulb removed, and I bought one of the Sylvania SilverStar replacements suggested here (to be installed tonight).

I have been a fan of the Gold Wings for years, as my grandfather just sold an '85 Interstate he bought new when I was quite young. I have fond memories of rides with him when I was younger, and I look forward to carrying on our informal family tradition.
