Rear Trunk
Greetings from new member in New Brunswick, Canada. Does anyone know whether or not the trunk top from a 1984 or 1985 Aspy will fit my 1986? The mounting points for the hinges are badly mangled, and I can't seem to get a strong enough surface built up using the Plastex and fiberglas combination. I noticed one for sale to fit a 1984, and another for a 1985. Pricey, so I wanted to make sure it would fit before dishing out 2 c-notes.

I looked at some friends this weekend and it appears to be the same. I saw on e-bay a brand new top- check pinwall, I think it was them

good luck

Welcome, Redwing, to the greatest source of information and tips for the GL1200.

Where are you located relative to St. George? My mother and sister live there and we've sprent a fair bit of time in that country over the past few years. One day, I'd like to have our 'Wing with us.

The chrome rear trunk rack on my '84 came from an '86. No worries about fitting.

Excellent forum! Sure glad I signed up! Yes, catman I believe it was Pinwall where I saw the top part for sale. Have you ever done business with these folks?
Keener, Hammond River is just East of Saint John, about a 45-minute run from St. George on Highway 1. Be glad to meet you next time through, Wing or no Wing.
Thanks again everbody.

Ironically enough, Redwing, my wife and I are planning a trip to St. George in late spring/early summer of '08. When we get further along, I'll send you a PM and, if your schedule permits, we can get together for a lunch/coffee/brown pop or whatever.
