Let's see your Aux. lights

I want to add some Aux. driving lights. Would like to see some pictures of the way you mounted yours.

Did you buy mounts or make them yourself???

I made my own mounts, copying some I saw available at one time.

I shall post a picture later but they are stainless steel tubular, have a small bracket with a nut welded to the back that uses the upper front mounting screw of the fairing side cover and a bracket that is secured by a hose clamp to the frame cross member over the radiator.

I had that one on at first and when it snapped on me while I was in Oregon I made my own when I got back

Now you tell me Tricky :lol: I just installed the same one I got from J.C. Whitney yesterday, although I'm using much smaller/lighter albeit high powered lights. Maybe I'll get lucky and the lighter weight units won't tend to snap the chrome tubes off. They sure fill in the spots that the headlight misses.

Yes those lights are a lot smaller than the ones I had on at the time, in fact I saw a pair of lights that I had on on one of the bikes that was at the Kitchener meet.

How does a 1200 handle all this power consumption?

Headlight on low: 35 W
Driving lights, Pair 110W
Tail and front markers 49.56W
Headlight markers 7.56W
dash lights 8.00W

thats 210.12

which is 17.6 amps

What the output say at 3300 RPM?

See external alternator section, both mine and Vics have this.

At normal riding speeds in fact anything above idle, I can power the stock lighting plus 2 56w spots, manually switched rad fan, rear light bar in fact everything there is, including a heated jacket and still show a nice 13.8 voltage.

Agreed, no problem handling this kind of electrical load thanks to the 50 amp. external alternator.
