Tires: I'm Confused!
O.K. one more stupid question:
I'm in need of a new rear tire for my 85 Aspy, it currently has a Conti-tour 150/90-15.
My 84 Standard is a 140/90-15 Dunlop....the difference is the 150 is a bit wider, correct? I only ask because the 150 seems to be rubbing somewhere (I havent removed it yet to inspect) as i have Black dust on the final drive and swing arm. Could be coming from the middle of the tire as it has worn down to the cord. :ymblushing:

Is anyone running a 140 on their Aspy/Interstate? or would that be an option anyone would use? Safety, load, handling
Thanks

+1 for the EIII. I run mine at 40 to 41 psi front and rear and really like the handling.

all GL's 84-87 came with 150/90's for rear tires,130/90's front
what you are probably seeing is brake dust but it could be tire dust too because once a tire wears down more than 60% they seems to wear much faster than getting to that point

for anybody that wants pdf's of the sales brochures, pm me your email address, same way i got them :d

Where do you like to buy tires?

Pretty set on the E-3, and one friend suggested Two Brothers. Anywhere else you suggest? I'll be ordering front and back tires.

My friend have a gold wing bike and he use Dunlop Elite III Tire .This tires deliver great mileage and handling for most big touring motorcycles. The E III tread pattern provides class leading performance on wet roads.EIII sport-derived profile provides a lively response in turn transitions and a solid feel through turns for confident cornering...He covered 10,000 miles on his tires and still ok..

I am running Dunlop D404's. Not getting much mileage out of this set! 10,000 miles or so, even for the front. Will try the Elite 3's soon.
I see the MT, MH and MV designation. I believe these are speed ratings. Do any of you know the difference in the MH and MT rating?
Thanks, Bob

Maybe this will help as it can get a little confusing : http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle- ... e-data.htm

Just removed D404s from my Standard and mounted a pair of shinko 230 tourmasters. 130/90-16 V (front) 150/90-15 V (Rear)
V being the speed rating, which is a rating for 149mph.

E-3s have a H speed rating which is rated for 130mph
I mounted E 3s on my Aspy in Jan.
