poorboy
Hi Folks,
Overdrive26 here, and I thought I might as well get on here and give everyone something to read, and brag about the quality of some ones work. Of course I`m talking about "Poorboy" over in the lovely state of Alabama. When my stator laid down and died (for the second time), I decided to try the "poorboy" kit. I received the kit in two days, and of course, wondered if I could make it work. I just followed the instructions, and got it done. I`m pretty slow so it took me about 5 hrs. to complete the job. So with trembling hands, I hit the starter... nothing! I seemed to have forgotten to hook-up the battery, but before I realized that, I made up 4 new and previously unknown cuss words. But I finally finished it up, and hit the starter again, and this time it worked. At idle: 12.6..At 2200 rpms: 14.6 and today its the same, hasn`t lost 1 volt. that was five years ago, and still going strong. I would highly recommend Poorboy.
See you folks when it gets warmer

If you treat your 1200 right, and trust her, she can and will save your butt from a lot of bad scenes. Just believe in her! Mine has several times.

I have two 87 Aspencades that I put poorboys on a few years ago. They still work flawless. With that said, I don't think I would have pulled both motors to do the stators if the poorboy were not an option. Hands down the best upgrade to save a beautiful machine, the 1200! I'm sure many, like myself, mediocre mechanics, tackled this upgrade and felt a sense of accomplishment. I know I did, and it gave me more confidence to go on and do other upgrades I might not have tried otherwise, such as timing belts, caliper rebuilds, etc. Thanks again Poorboy!!!
