The Heinz plant that was going to close and put 800? people out of work is being bought up by another company.

that's nice to hear,anytime an industry closes down and can reopen under another company is a win-win for everyone in the area,a 800 person factory probably affects 10,000 people in the area in one way or another

No doubt they'll get hired back at a lower rate of pay(seems to be the way these days),but it still has to be better than the alternative.

It is good news somewhat. My guess is that they will go from 800 employees down to 250, lose the union, cut pay in half and make people work twice as hard and working conditions will be terrible. I sure hope that I'm wrong about this, but, I've seen this type of ploy at other places where companies desired to cut operating expenses to fatten their corporate wallets. They just call it "business."
