Rear Brake Check!
I bought my bike in '04 from my brother-in-law after she had set for about 7 years. Needless to say, I've learned quite a bit while getting her roadworthy again since the Honda shops locally didn't seem to be interested in making any money off me and working on the bike!

One of the items I repaired/rebuilt was all three brake calipers as they were so corroded inside and in the o-ring grooves that the brakes wouldn't release. They've worked great since being rebuilt and about once a month I've checked the pads for wear which has been nominal.

Or so I thought.

Tonight I just finished taking the bike apart so I could take the rear tire off and have a new tire put on and noticed the condition of the rear brake pads. I had about 1/8" of pad left on the fixed side and about 1/16" of pad left on the piston side while both front brakes have at least 3/8" of pad left!

I believe the rear caliper is still sticking slightly and I'm gonna break it down and inspect/clean/rebuild it and go from there but the point of my post is this,,,

Don't forget to check the wear on the rear brakes!!!!

I did and it allmost cost me my rear rotor!!

Oh, and the mileage was only 5500 miles.

Check and lubricate the slider bolts they will also cause extra wear on the motion side of the caliper.
When gripping the caliper you should feel a looseness when moved side to side.
The only stupid questions are the one's that are not asked.
