Think i Found My Problem--Plug Wires
After re-doing timing and still haveing problem with not wanting to idle and bad throttle response--i started checking things out--did test on pulse generator--checked out ok--next was going to test resistance on coils--pulled plug wires on right side and when removing right plug wire it broke apart right at the cap--seems like my problem is bad wires--thought i would start and see if it ran the same as before with this wire not even hooked up--exactally the same--gotta be my wires

does anyone have the steps involved in getting to wires were they plug into coils--and what wire set do you recommend replaceing them with

If you don't have a copy of the gl1200 manual: go to http://www.gobookee.net/honda-goldwing-g...ce-manual/, or http://goldwingdocs.com/Manuals.asp?type=GL1200 and download the free manuals.

The steps are in chapter 5.

plug the cap back at the coil and wires just twist out easily, just changeour wires one at a time watching routing of wires,i reccommend these, gets rid of the NGK caps and boot is correcty angle and boots are molded in

Can you elaborate on this upgrade?

Do you use the Honda resister and wire rain boots?

I had two clogged drain holes (blown clean) with bad starting being the flag and I am pretty sure my wires added to the hard starting.

Now that it's hot and finally dry I am thinking now would be a good time to replace the wires.

peter,
no wires are all you need, pull out of package, rout thru frame to coils, cut to length needed, and connect to coils, all thats required on the aspy or interstate is to remove air filter and lower filter box for access to coils, now on the sei or ltd its alot more "junk" to remove
the boots are correct angle and once snapped in those rain covers that most people use are not needed
