Going to Colorado from sea level

I live at sea level - literally - I live in a harbor. I'm planning on taking my '86 Interstate over some pretty high passes in Colorado in two weeks.
Has anyone done this on a 'wing? Will the bike run OK with a generous load of me plus camping gear? |
