What to Look for When Buying? - Mr. C - 06-03-2021 Hi there. New member here! After deciding that I would like to get into cruising, I have come to the realization that I am way over my head! There seem to be a good number of Goldwings available in my area, but am really unsure what I should be looking for. My current bike is a KLX250 (I know, I am REALLY over my head with this Goldwing idea!), but I have experience with larger and older bikes as well. My last older bike was a 1982 KZ750. Fuel injection is fine with me, as my KLX is injected, but I think I would rather carbs when it comes to an older machine. I am not afraid to dig into engines and get dirty (to an extent), but I don't really know where to start. Many of the bikes I see here have 150 000 to 200 000 km on them. Should I even consider a bike with that type of mileage? Should I be avoiding the Aspencade models with all the extra electronics since I am new to these machines? I would love to stay around the $2000 CND price point at the beginning until I know that the cruising like is for me. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Peter |
